Boars Head Bistro, Coffee Shop & Boutique Hotel in Sunderland East End celebrating upcoming Sunderland Events and is at the heart of the Tall Ships Races Sunderland 2018, 11th -14th July.
The Boars Head has been here since 1724, overlooking one of the most interesting history filled rivers of the world, and it has some of the most beautiful views in the City of Sunderland.
Recently renovated to reflect Old Sunderland's history, once dubbed "the largest shipbuilding town in the world" with shipbuilding dating back to 1346.
All of it the staff was amazing along with the food. I travel approximately 40 weeks of the year and always look for the typical English pubs and can honestly say this is in my top 3 and will be going back It's was a 1724 pub which as been refurbished in an old lovely tradition pub something you don't find to often.
Laurel and Hardy Appreciation Society
The Boars Head is also the home of the local chapter, or 'tent', of the Laurel and Hardy Appreciation Society. Known as the 'Beau Chumps' after one of Stan and Ollie's most famous films, the tent meets at 7:30pm on the second Wednesday of every month.
